Welcome to Wickenburg Unified School District
Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year
Whether you are returning to Wickenburg Unified School District or are new to one of our communities, we welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year. We believe that every student can achieve their dreams, and we are dedicated to working with families and the community to support those dreams.
We are a small district, that covers over 1000 square miles of land. Three of our schools are located in Wickenburg, and one is in the fast-growing city of Buckeye. We have an award-winning virtual academy that has been serving students in grades K-12 for more than 10 years. Although we are spread out over many miles, our schools and district maintain a small town culture, where everyone feels at home.
We are excited to begin the school year with students on our campuses, and trust that we will be able to remain that way throughout the school year. Student access to highly qualified teachers in an educational setting is one of the best ways to ensure academic success. We are committed to ensuing that every student meets his/her full potential, and have a variety of programs and offerings to address individual needs.
Wickenburg Unified School District is proud of the success of our students and schools. We are “Wickenburg Strong.”
Again, welcome to WUSD. We are happy you are here.
Barbara Remondini, Ph.D.
Why Choose WUSD?
The Wickenburg Virtual Academy serves grades K-12 with online instruction. One of the Academy's highlights is its ability to serve students who travel, keeping students on track to fulfull graduation requirements in a timely manner.
Hassayampa Elementary School, Vulture Peak Middle School and Wickenburg High School have received the 21st Century Learning Program grant. This allows the implementation of programs which help enrich our students' education.
Festival Foothills Elementary School has been rated an "A" school for two years in a row.
WUSD is becoming a lighthouse school district, and our students are the big winners. They will continually grow academically and will be better prepared for continuing their education through our WUSD staff’s tremendous efforts and hard work towards fulfilling our focus statement, specifically moving each student to the next level academically.
