Welcome to Vulture Peak Middle School!
A Message from our Principal
“No significant learning occurs without a significant relationship.” ~ James Comer
With this in mind, the staff of Vulture Peak Middle School are investing in forming positive relationships. We are off to a flying start the first six weeks of school. Our little community at Vulture Peak is busy and growing. This is such a fun age; the ‘tween years are a time of discovery-both academically and emotionally. It is a time of great brain growth and we need to take advantage of our time with these students. Watching the kids find themselves as they are developing into pre-adults is an adventure every day! The staff at Vulture Peak is committed to working with all of our young learners to help them reach their full potential. We are encouraging them to not only be successful in their academics but in their interactions with other people-both students and staff.
The greatest resource for kids to help insure their success are the adults in their lives. This can be parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, family friends, youth pastors, coaches and especially teachers. Everyone who touches their lives can make an impact.
Right now, we are looking for volunteers who would be willing to come to our school and volunteer to support our middle schoolers. Do you like to spend time with kids? We can fit you in. We would like people who can come during our lunches and visit with them. Recess at middle school can be fun. Come referee an intramural volleyball game or play bump out with kids on the basketball court. Do you like to read to kids? Believe or not; pre-teens like to be read to. We would love to have people who can either listen to them read or read aloud to them. Do you enjoy doing creative activities? We have an art class who would love to have someone come in and teach different art techniques. Do you like to help out in the office? We can use help setting up bulletin boards, making copies and other administrative work.
Do you have an academic skill you want to share with students? We can use tutors during the day or can set up a time after school. Do you just like to listen? Kids love to share their days and talking about their pets is a favorite! There are so many opportunities to make a difference in these young people’s lives. If you are interested in volunteering, please go to our website: www.wickenburgschools.org and click on our volunteer page. We look forward to having you!
