Festival Foothills Elementary utilizes Character Counts, a national framework that implements character education to our students. The framework is based on six pillars of character:
Character education teaches these universally accepted values in order to motivate young people to incorporate them into their lives. Character education is non-partisan and non-religious. During the school year our school counselor does Character Counts lessons. We also highlight one pillar of character each month through our morning announcements. More information about Character Counts is located in third through eighth grade student agendas or at CharacterCounts.org.
Character Counts Club
Are you a kid of character? Do you enjoy planning activities and service projects? Would you like to have a leadership role in your school? If so, the Character Counts Club is the place for you! Throughout the school year, we’ll be focusing on spreading messages of responsibility, citizenship, caring, fairness, respect, and trustworthiness to the students and staff at Festival Foothills. You’ll help plan Character Counts and Red Ribbon Week activities, coordinate school-wide contests, assist with the Pennies for Patients drive, brainstorm service projects, and team up with the school counselor to give classroom lessons. Come be a part of the fun!
